Can someone sum up the french revolution?

very quickly put: you had years of french royalty abusing the population without giving the general pop nothing for their over-taxed bodies and lives. after all, the taxes kept the royals in power and flush with cash. well, after the success of americans over the brits in 1787, well, the french thought, if the yanks can do it, why not us, right? well, in 1790 or abouts, the revolution occurred and the royalty was disposed of, rather gruesomely, but gone they were. however, with nothing to replace the once-powerful throne, chaos ensued, napoleon came about, restored power and pride. after napoleon, royalty was restored but with extremely limited power. who said the french don't learn from their mistakes. look up the word, Bastille' and go from there. not much done with the Bastille, but the 18th century french revolutionaries, it was a note-worthy beginning. good luck!
