Huge question about majors that will change the futures of two college students?

I'm not sure how you can be a doctor and not like biology on some level, just as I'm not sure how you can be a rocket scientist and not take some kind of interest in aerodynamics (though I don't think being scared of heights is that much of a problem; you're building and programming the things, not riding them). So while I think your switch makes perfect sense and hopefully in the course of programming you'll find something you do want to develop, I don't quite know what to tell poor Taylor. Why exactly does he want to be a doctor? Maybe there's some other avenue to that ambition (engineering with a focus on health care tech, perhaps?), or some other major that'll keep him saner while he grits his teeth through the other pre-med requirements.
