Car Idles Rough & Violent Shake?

I'm throwing in my experience in. The second problem that you are not too worried about is the issue. I would conduct a fuel pressure test to indicate which part is at fault, a bad fuel pump, leaking fuel injectors or a faulty fuel pressure regulator. A faulty regulator could cause the pressure to surge and falter constantly. If the pressure is too much, it could cause some of the O-rings in the fuel injectors to blow causing the injectors to leak into the cylinders. This causes excess fuel consumption and a fuel smell at the exhaust.
