Weather station temp sensor locations?

I have a temp sensor that is located on a sunny side of the house. Reading spike very high around 5pm due living in a apartment complex. Any suggestions on how I can enclose the sensor for a more accurate reading? I live in Mesa AZ and temps do hit 130 at 5pm but I know it hasn't hit the high yet. I have tried a box with holes etc.
